Accidentally didn't link GW1 to GW2 - Disclaimer: I'm Dumb
As the title says, I accidentally forgot to link my GW1 account to my GW2. Am I eternally screwed?
Edit: I definitely put this in the wrong section. If a mod could move this, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Spartan

Well that was a mistake -
I just tried to access my NCSoft Master Account from here at work and I'm pretty sure, as a result of their 'awesome' safety feature, just got my account temporarily blocked because it's a different IP address than my home.
Just turned this into a bigger mess.

This is now where you go to get help for all NCsoft games.
http://us.ncsoft.com/en/support/
Where you want to go is Guild Wars 2 support, there is a Link My GW and GW2 contact category option in the form.
http://support.guildwars2.com/app/account/support/
Click on "Login Issues" on the Top menu, this takes you to the Contact form, where you then click on "I need help with... *"
Select Linking Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, from there you will be asked for your information to proof you own both accounts.
The more information provided to the support team, the easier the process will be.
In addition if you didn't give the secondary verification the correct answers to your secret questions, NcSoft master account help page can be found here, without having to log in.
https://help.ncsoft.com/app/answers/list
Click on "Account Support/Login", there in the Contact Form you will find your category of help, just like before fill out as many of the fields to make the process nice and fast.

You can link your GW1 account to GW2 later, unless you linked a different GW1 account to your GW2 account. You didn't have to link it when you signed up.

I didn't link my GW1 account at the time of creation for my GW2 account.
I followed your FAQ, entered my password and serial code, but as expected, it says "Serial Code" already used. Of course it was, I just bought the game!

You're trying to create your account again with that procedure. Off course that's not possible since you already used that serial number.
I don't think you can link them yet, unless you did it on account creation when prompted. When the game is launched, we'll surely get this possibility, together with better instructions to do it.

Thanks - other people have reassured me this as well but I don't understand why they wouldn't implement something like that sooner rather than later.

Because everything is still in an unfinished, beta state. It's pretty evident that, web-side, things are getting pushed to us straight off development. Being an early adopter hasn't always been ideal (such as for people who have @plaync account names as their "email address" -- lawdy).
But as said, you will have an opportunity to link your accounts later. They aren't even letting us play with HoM-connected features in the BWEs yet, so you're not missing out on anything.
